Hemp-reinforced hosiery · Pilot 001
Fewer synthetics. Fewer replacements. Longer wear. Introducing the world's first high-durability stocking crafted with 70% cottonized hemp and recycled nylon.

Composite yarn
Hemp exterior, recycled nylon core, elastane memory.
The dilemma
Conventional nylon hosiery is a fossil-fuelled, highly disposable commodity. It runs, ladders and tears easily — sending millions of pairs to landfill after just a handful of wears, shedding microplastics along the way.
Our solution
A high-hemp engineered composite stocking.
Instead of fragile, 100% synthetic tights, we developed a material architecture that wraps fine, soft-processed hemp around a recycled nylon filament core — natural fibre on the surface, engineered strength within.

1 hemp stocking performs the function of roughly 3 conventional pairs — slashing waste, emissions and packaging.
The business case
A short film on the numbers behind hemp-reinforced stockings — the cost of the disposable tights cycle, the material science that ends it, and what a longer-lived pair means for both your wardrobe and the waste stream.
Material architecture
70%
The main renewable fibre, held on the exterior surface of the yarn for breathability, natural antibacterial behaviour and a soft matte hand.
25%
Placed in the internal filament core to supply extreme tensile strength, abrasion resistance and ladder resistance.
5%
Knitted strategically to ensure a precise fit, comfortable stretch and reliable shape recovery wash after wash.

Targeted reinforcement zones
Toes
Double-density knit at the toe box, where abrasion and seam stress begin most runs.
Transparency
We believe in honest claims. We do not advertise our stockings as "biodegradable" (since recycled nylon and elastane are in the blend) or "carbon-negative". Instead, we stick to verified facts: made with 70% hemp, contains 25% recycled nylon, and engineered to last 3x longer.
Improvement roadmap
Generation 1
Current
70% hemp / 25% recycled nylon / 5% elastane
Prove comfort, fit and extreme durability in wearer trials.
Generation 2
Target
80% hemp / 15% recycled nylon / 5% elastane
Reduce synthetic content further without losing performance.
Generation 3
Future R&D
82–85% hemp / 12–15% bio-based reinforcement / 3–4% stretch fibre
Approach the minimum technically necessary synthetic content.

Our craft & origins
We combine premium European industrial hemp with specialised hosiery manufacturers in Northern Italy — the historic Mantova and Castel Goffredo districts — where cutting-edge circular knitting machines produce zero-waste garments.
Pilot quality standards
Every prototype pair is rigorously tested before it earns a place in the pilot run.
